Five holes wind along Calabash Creek, home to nesting pairs of osprey. Sea Trail - The Maples Course is unique in its use of waste bunkers, making it a challenge for even the experienced golfer.

In 2003, the Maples Course underwent a half-million dollar renovation project that included the installation of bentgrass greens, the refurbishing of existing bunkers, and the completion of the elaborate landscaping.

Sea Trail is home to over 2,500 acres of winding creeks, man-made lakes and lush woodlands. The Maples Course is a traditional southern course that is framed by magnificent 75 year-old live oaks and towering pines. N.C. Magazine rates Dan Maple’s Course in the Top 5 “Best Conditioned Courses”in the coastal region. Golf Digest rates it in the “Top 50 Courses in Myrtle Beach.”

In 2004, the Maples Course was awarded Golfweek’s America’s Best Residential Course of Distinction. This prestigious award was based on a variety of criteria including basic quality of condition, landscape and tree management, overall design and the “walk in the park” test.
