The par-71 Heathland Course, designed by Tom Doak, is a return to the grand "Old Country" traditions of the game. Heathland at Legends Resorts has been distinctively molded in the image of British Isles links courses, with holes reminiscent of familiar links such as St. Andrews, Lahinch and Cruden Bay.

The links-style layout features a dearth of trees, the challenge is presented more by the unobstructed breeze that wafts constantly over the course, and the strategically placed bunkers and lush, deep rough that closely borders the undulating fairways. Large putting surfaces allow even the mid- to high-handicap player to reach greens in regulation, but also demand an impeccable short game in order to score well. Rated one of the "Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World" by Golf magazine in 1990, Heathland's design allows all ability levels to "step back in time."
